Tile installation isn't simply a matter of starting in one corner and working across the room.

Large-format tile has become extremely popular in modern bathrooms.
It can create a cleaner appearance with fewer grout lines, but larger pieces also make alignment particularly noticeable.
If one area begins drifting out of alignment, the eye can often follow that inconsistency across the room.

Shower floors require another level of attention
A shower floor isn't merely decorative.
Unlike the bathroom floor outside the shower, the shower surface also needs to work with the drainage design of the space.
That means aesthetics and function have to coexist.
